CT Democrats fully supported a new law signed by the Governor limiting ICE agents actions as follows:
- Disallows roundups at schools, churches and other sensitive places,
- requires ICE federal agents be identifiable by name tag or badge number,
- and gives the state’s inspector general jurisdiction to review use of lethal force by ICE, as he does with local police.
Lieutenant Governor Bysiewicz explained that the bill is meant to reinforce transparency and accountability among all areas of public enforcement.
