Zach van Luling for Rocky Hill Town Council

I live on Boulder Drive with my wife, our one-year-old daughter, and our family dog. I was born at New Britain Hospital and raised in nearby Wethersfield. This part of Connecticut has always been home, even while work carried me to several other states and a number of different communities. For fifteen years I’ve helped lead public-policy and advocacy efforts at every level of government, and I now direct advocacy at a statewide public-affairs firm where I help communities, businesses, and organizations turn good ideas into practical results.

“I gained valuable experience working across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic before choosing Rocky Hill to set deep roots. Those years on the road sharpened my ability to listen, build consensus, and deliver results; skills I now bring home to serve my neighbors.

“After six years of the same hands on the wheel, Town Hall has slipped into a comfortable routine that lets costs climb and opportunities pass us by. With a refreshed vision, we can rein in costs and capture new opportunities. Our Democratic candidates are ready to bring fresh energy and ideas forward.

Why are you running?

“I’m running to keep Rocky Hill affordable, make Town Hall truly accountable, and ensure that we stay open for business by eliminating red-tape, and actively courting responsible commercial growth that balances our property-tax base, relieves the burden on homeowners, and funds the services and schools our families depend on.”
