Join Congressman John Larson at an in-person Public Forum at West Hartford Town Hall
December 22 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Congressman Larson will discuss the following:
- House Republicans voted to advance a health care plan that does not extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits that more than 100,000 Connecticut residents rely on.
- Four Republicans joined our effort to force a vote on a three-year extension of the credits, but Speaker Johnson sent the House home for the holidays, postponing that vote until January. Without action, some families could see their costs double.
- Families are getting squeezed by rising costs everywhere from energy costs to grocery bills. According to the Yale Budget Lab, the average family will see $1,700 in additional costs annually thanks to Trump’s tariffs. Prices of popular holiday gifts have soared compared to last year – increasing by an average of 26%.
- The Congressman along with some other Democratic colleagues introduced a bill to end these costly tariffs now and lower costs.
