SUMMARY:Sustainable CT April Earth Month Coffee Hour
DESCRIPTION:From Sustainable CT: \n\n\n\nJoin us for a virtual coffee hour to learn about the results of a three-year Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) pilot\, funded by DEEP to address the state’s growing waste challenges. Municipalities that participated in the program achieved significant waste reduction and increased recycling. The pilots that led to permanent programs now lead the state in food scrap separation and composting. This session will feature speakers from these communities\, sharing insights on what worked\, how they engaged residents\, and the impact of their efforts\, as well as representatives from CT DEEP and Waste Zero. This is an opportunity to connect\, ask questions\, and hear real-world experiences and key takeaways from the pilot. Join Sustainable CT for virtual\, informal\, discussions most third Thursdays of each month. We share program updates and resources\, explore your questions\, and strengthen the network of Sustainable CT champions. These sessions are free and open to all.

DESCRIPTION:Date & Time \n\n\n\n\n\nFrom Congressman Larson: \n\n\n\nDear Friends\, Join me Thursday\, April 17th\, at 7:00 PM for a virtual conversation with Attorney General William Tong. You can register for the event HERE.     \n\n\n\nIn an interview last month\, Elon Musk identified Medicare\, Medicaid\, and Social Security as the Trump Administration’s ‘key targets’ for cuts. Since then\, the Administration has closed the Regional Office that assists Connecticut residents on Medicare\, supported a budget plan in Congress that could pave the way for cuts to Medicaid\, and moved forward with cuts at the Social Security Administration\, including office closures and lay offs of thousands of workers.I continue to speak out against these cuts in Congress and am committed to not just protecting but strengthening Americans’ earned benefits. At the state level\, Connecticut has been a leader in the legal cases against many of these actions. \n\n\n\nAttorney General Tong recently joined litigation to block the Administration’s cuts to public health funding\, including mental health and addiction services here in Connecticut. Today\, he filed a brief in court to block the layoffs and cuts taking place at the Social Security Administration.   \n\n\n\nAs your representative\, I want to hear from you.
