At 5:20pm on Thursday, Feburary 19, Rocky Hill Mayor Allan Smith shared an update on the status of Concierge buildings 100, 200, 300 in a public Facebook post.
UPDATE RE: CONCIERGE APARTMENTS — February 19, 2026
As of the afternoon of February 19, 2026, the 200 (Building B) at Concierge Apartments has cleared inspection by our Fire Marshal and Building Official. The Town has formally lifted the “unsafe structure” order for that building, and residents may re-enter.
Concierge management has sent many residents additional details, including temporary limitations on garage and carport access while some work continues.
We recognize that residents remain understandably concerned, particularly following information shared about asbestos in the 100 (Building A). Prior to approving re-entry to Building 200, our Building Official required that Concierge conduct air quality testing for asbestos in the connected 100, 200, and 300 buildings. The results showed all samples were below the Connecticut Department of Public Health re-occupancy clearance standard. (See attached documentation)
Work remains ongoing in the 100 and 300 buildings to restore required systems before they can be re-occupied. However, today’s progress is an important positive step forward. The Town’s priority remains clear: to return residents to their homes as quickly and as safely as possible, while preventing this from happening again.
Upon your return, if you experience issues with heat, hot or cold water, or experience excess moisture within your unit:
• Immediately contact on-site management. An in-person report may be fastest, but email provides documentation.
• If you do not receive a timely response, follow up by phone and email with the corporate hotline.
At this time, the Town has not received any updates regarding a financial assistance package for residents or lease termination terms. The Connecticut Attorney General and relevant federal agencies continue their investigations. We do not have additional information to share on those matters at this time.
