Congressman John Larson Fights Back Against Trump’s Gas Hikes, Ballroom and “Triumphal Arch”.

In his recent email update, Congressman Larson wants the CT public to know that he is fighting to protect your taxpayer dollars from Trump’s vanity projects, and advance real solutions to bring down prices of groceries, gas prices, and health insurance premiums which he says is caused by “Trump’s cost-of-living crisis”.

The Congressman points out that “this week, the average cost to fill up your tank hit $4.37/gallon in the State of Connecticut.”  He explains that “Trump continues to call affordability a ‘hoax,’ and instead focuses on building his ballroom and “Triumphal Arch” in honor of himself.”

Below are actions taken by Congressman Larson and others that address some of the totally unnecessary projects paid for by our tax dollars:

    • Last week, a bipartisan Congress decision rejected Trump’s  $1 billion request for “ballroom security”,
    • Congressman Larson and his Democratic colleagues filed a court brief to halt the ballroom construction immediately.
    • The Congressman introduced legislation with Rep. Don Beyer to block construction of Trump’s proposed 250-foot “Triumphal Arch” planned for Memorial Circle, between Washington, D.C., and Arlington National Cemetery.
